I feel so refreshing after school started. Well, school is really nice for studious people like me. I enjoy schooling! Things went ok..

This is my fourth semester at Wichita State University...How time flies~ Recall the day when I just got here and the moment when I was waiting someone to pick me up at the airport. The excitement to be a WSU shocker..lol..it's all in the past.

I enjoy being an active member in ISU (International Student Union). I work together with people from different background to promote togetherness among the international students at WSU. It is really cool when you get the chance to get to know more about other cultures. Last Thursday, I attended the Spring'09 International Student Orientation as an orientation leader. It was fun meeting all my group members. They are so cute (even though all of them are older than me)! I shared with them my experiences. Well, I have another 2 and half years here in Wichita for my undergraduate studies.

"The next breath is a choice" Dr.Matson said this in the class. He described how beautiful life is and how we should cherish every moment we are alive. Cause nobody knows what's gonna happen next. "Man, his lecture is so powerful, he talks about things that we are seldom aware of!You rock!"

I was bored wandering about campus foran hour. Then, I went to talk to Dr.Woo, who is a young korean sociology professor. She shared her experience studying in UT as a graduate student with me and how she overcame difficulties adapting to the American cultures. She is so nice!I love her!

Well, I think this is all for now. I am gonna get back to my reading for tomorrow research methods class.

I just created a new category named "My Journal" in the blog. As the title states, I am going to post some journals there.

Day time seems to be much longer than it used to be after I began to work 40 hours per week. After being lazy for a while, I found it difficult to wake up early in the morning. Scanning was such a hard time for me. The scanning process was so boring that I almost dozed off in front of my boss. Well, we managed to scan 1208 packets in just 2 days. It was amazing. We'd got the former student assistants beat!

After the trip in St.Louis, I got myself freshened up a bit. My enthusiasm to learn new things became much stronger that I would like to spend more time learning other cultures and languages. I started passing out my self-made communication and social skills evaluation sheets to my friends. Their comments are helpful to me. They help me to learn more about myself. Indeed, those comments reveal values I possess that I've never noticed before.Thank you, God for blessing me with so many good friends around me.

Kansas State Fair 2008 (Hutchinson, KS)

It's been a while since i posted the last update of myself. Here is a cool experience to share: the Kansas State Fair.

The locals have the fair annually. What is this for? To bring people to experience the real Kansas culture. The main part of the fair is the poultry exhibitions and performances. Besides that, the visitors get the chance to try different kind of local food such as the turkey drumstick, corndog, and funnel cake. Ok, here comes my experience: Well, i didn't get the chance to play all the fun games there; it was raining whole day. BUT!!! I didnt miss the food. Some people were selling food by the street. The funnel cake and corndog seemed to taste better for some reasons (I guess it was because of the cold weather).

Hey guys,

I am sorry that I have not posted anything for so long. I am still unfeeling well, even after weeks of rest at home.

I got a cold 3 weeks ago. Things went even worse when the cold became severe and finally turned to sinus infection.

"Arggg..that's so painful"

I was actually just diagnozed with sinus infection the day before I got on my flight. My right ear was in great pain when I was on the plan, especially during the take-off and landing.

Don't worry, I am feeling much better now. I might need to go to check my ear shortly.

Big discovery

I guess I know what have happened to my weight,it is all my own fault!!!

I have gained 15 pounds since i got here,this is not a laughing matter! That 15 extra pounds has become good friend with my body.

I have been hearing comment from friends that "You always get caught with your mouthful look! "Well,This is always true...

"Eat the right amount,do not overeat" this will be my new life principle from now onwards.

Glass Bead Making

Hey hey, this is the latest art work i have done~ The GLASS BEADmaking !!!

Cool? huh?

This was my first time making the glass bead and the house owner+ my housemate + my friend, Eva was my teacher (kinda funny huh?the long description i meant)...-.-" cool

The first picture shows the color of the glass rods..There are quite a number of colors available, pick your color and start working on it..

Here are some sample glass rods..

Prepare all the equipments like the burner torch, glass rods, mandrel (thin rod), gas tank.Also,Get yourself ready for it...

Yeah, heat the glass with very high temperature until it changes to liquid form..

Yeah, these are the products...

Conclusion: Um,
Good teacher + good student + good material = Good glass bead
Actually, the whole process only takes a few minute,and it is simple,why not try to make your own bead??

Cool Tip: Be patient, do not rush when u wound the molten glass around the mandrel.

The trip was my first trip in the States and it was such a fantastic experience, really learned a lot during the conference and the workshop messages were so powerful that seem like was talking to my heart.AMAZING~
Learning is one of the life processes!

Throughout the small group meeting, we shared our learnings and experiences. I was so happy to be in the group. Before we dismissed the last meeting, we prayed for each another and also prayed for everyone that we would apply what we'd learnt during the 4 days conference in our lives.

We had square dancing at night,yeah,i think most of us had a great fun at the ball.

I've got the chance to meet other people while changing our partners each round. Not bad!!!

Yeah, is time to show u guys around~ hehe...just through some pictures..

This is the 16th street, i think this is the main street of the mall..like the town so much.

As is shown in the picture, there are a lot of nice buildings in the town, the building designs are very different from my homecountry.
The fragrance of century~ A bit difficult to understand this description I know,but this is the best phrase i could think of for the scenery in the town.

I like the design, so just took some pictures before we left.

My First WSU T-Shirt Design

This is the design which I submitted for the WSU T-Shirt Design Competition in 2007.

Total judging sheets received: 7

Here are the comments:

1. Creativity-> 6

2. Originality-> 6

3. Neatness of Presentation-> 1 (s0bbing)

4. Wear ability-> 0 (argggg!)

5. Use of WSU School Spirit-> 0 (sweating)

I was stunned when i read the judging sheets at the first time."Is it really so bad? did they took somebody's design as mine?"

It was my first competition in Wichita State University and I was too new at that time,i knew nothing about my school at all.

Okies, let's move on the analysis part

I thought about the comments "calmly" for a few days, and i realized that i was not making a design for T-shirt but for the poster or logo. OHHH! (look at the 3rd and 4th comments)
Besides,it is not practical, the picture should be made smaller (cause somebody might need to tuck the shirt in). The last and the most important thing: the spirit of WSU. Actually i had thought about it for a long time,even after i turned my design in. OHHHH, I should included the WuShock picture. Huh? Don't understand?

Let me just briefly explain it to you.

Anyway, i got good rating for the creativity and originality.

Personally,i like this design even though it did not win the competition. hehe,i will keep it up and continue to participate in other activities.

Yeah, that's my favorite "Veggie Tales"

The two main character in the film are Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber..

The stories in the film are mostly based on the famous stories in the bible.

Personally,I like the way they present the message of Gospel and it gives a better understanding to the audience! Great Job!!!

What's that?

Never expected stone can be transformed into this way huh?

Recently,I am using nature and recycled materials to make creative stuff. I used to appreciate arts work that other people have made and never thought of I will do the same thing. "Addicted" yes~I am now in love with arts work.

This is one of the stone painting work I have done few weeks ago.

The painting is very simple and everyone can
make his or her own painted rock. Paint it with your creativity.
